Ladies, it’s time to glow.
Summer is coming to an end but if you adjust your makeup — you don’t have to lose your glow. All you need is a little shimmer that will help define your cheekbones and give you a radiant glow.
Any makeup expert will tell you that highlighting automatically creates dimension in your face, even in the absence of contouring. So, if you’re a contouring queen, it’s okay…it’s time to become a shimmer addict.
How do I choose the right shade?
Think jewelry. One of my close friends, who’s a makeup artist, says whatever color looks best on you – silver, gold, rose gold — is going to be your ideal highlighter shade.
Should I use a cream, liquid or powder?
It comes down to your skin type and personal preference. Liquids are going to be the easiest to blend (also easiest for highlighting newbies). Creams work great for those with dry skin. Powders are best for oily types. TIP: If you have oily skin, set the shimmer with a translucent mattifying powder.
At what point should I use my highlighter?
As the finishing touch. Dab liquids with fingers and dust powders with a fluffy brush.
Where do I apply it?
Under the tail of your brow.
Upper cheekbones (think fish face)
Bridge of nose
Above your Cupid’s bow.
